How to use it

Dosage & handling

LDH95™ is a highly concentrated, virgin hop oil built for cold-side dosing. Instead of pounds of pellets, you are working with a small, precise dose of hop oil. 1 mL delivers the hop impact of 1.4 to 1.8 lbs of T-90 pellets.

01

Dose cold during transfer

Dose during transfer to the bright tank at 32-39°F (0-3.9°C) via injection.

02

Dilution is Not Necessary

Do not mix with ethanol or other compounds prior to injection.

03

One tank? CO2 Stir

If fermenting and brightening in one tank, stir CO2 while dosing and agitate until absorbed.

04

Taste at 18-24hrs

Taste test at 18-24 hours. If redosing is needed, do it before you begin full carbonation.

Conversion

1mL = 1.4 - 1.8lbs of hops

LDH95 dropper bottle

LDH95™ Virgin Hop Oil is a highly concentrated virgin hop oil, so a small volume carries serious aromatic impact. That means less material going into the tank, less product to handle, and more control over the final dose.

Built to preserve the volatile aromatic character brewers actually want from hops, LDH95™ Virgin Hop Oil delivers bright, expressive hop character without bringing the potential off-flavors of T-90 pellet dry hopping techniques.

Pellets absorb beer. Oil does not. By replacing some or all of a dry hop addition with LDH95™, brewers can reduce losses tied to hop absorption and recover more finished beer from the same batch.

The tincture form factor makes small adjustments easy to measure and repeat. Once you dial in a dose for a recipe, recreating that aromatic profile from batch to batch becomes a much more controlled process.

LDH95™ Virgin Hop Oil is designed for cold-side addition during transfer to the bright tank without steeping. Dose, incorporate, taste, and adjust.

LDH95™ Virgin Hop Oil packs concentrated hop character into a compact format that is easier to store, handle, and dose in the cellar.

What brewers are saying

With the oils it's allowed us to come up with ways to be more cost efficient and have huge yield contributions... Three to five extra barrels of sellable product post centrifugation in our brewery is a huge godsend for us."

Frequently asked Questions

As a general reference point, 1 mL of Mill 95 Virgin Hop Oil is roughly equivalent to 1.4 to 1.8 pounds of T-90 pellets. That concentration is why LDH95™ comes in a tincture-style bottle.

It can replace some or all of a traditional dry hop addition depending on the beer and the target profile. It can also be used alongside T-90 pellets when a brewer wants to keep part of the traditional hop load while reducing overall hop mass in the tank.

That is exactly what LDH95™ Virgin Hop Oil was developed to avoid. In Mill 95's side-by-side trials with fully dry hopped T-90 pellet beers, the oil-dosed and traditionally dry-hopped beers finished remarkably close once carbonated, with positive sensory feedback.

Dose LDH95™ cold during transfer to the bright tank, ideally at 32-39°F. Allow it to incorporate, then taste at 18-24 hours. If an additional dose is needed, make the adjustment before full carbonation.

No. Do not pre-mix LDH95™ with ethanol or other compounds before dosing. Inject it directly during transfer according to the recommended dosing procedure.

Because there is no pellet material soaking up beer, LDH95™ Virgin Hop Oil can reduce product loss associated with dry hopping by up to 7% on average.

That is one of the biggest practical advantages. Oil dosing eliminates the hop dumps, clogged ports, hop matter and cleanup that can come with a heavy pellet dry hop. In Mill 95's production trial, the oil-dosed beer was in tank for 24 hours compared with five days for the traditional dry hop.

Yes. Taste the beer after 18-24 hours of incorporation. If you want more aromatic intensity, add another measured dose before the beer reaches full carbonation.

Follow the storage and handling instructions supplied with your LDH95™ order. For specific shelf-life, temperature or opened-container guidance, contact Mill 95 before putting the product into your brewery's SOP.
